What is wrong with my dog?
Two days ago I noticed my dog was all hunched up at the back ,she was shaking and twitching and staring into space, her eyes looked like they were glazed over and she couldn't seem to walk properly ,she yelped when I touched her head but when checking her all over she didn't seem to be in any pain. This lasted for about 20 30 minutes then she curled up in her bed her eyes started to look brighter and she seemed to recognise me but she seemed scared and still shaking a bit. The next day she seemed fine but then this morning she was shaking and twitching again and doesn't seem herself please does anyone have any ideas of what could be wrong with her?

As this is an ongoing problem your first port of call should be to your vet.

The symptoms you describe could be the result of a number of things.

Trembling and unexplained fear are often results of pain. The hunched back could indicate pain within the stomach or intestinal system caused by something like a blockage, or severe gas build-up. Both require immediate medical attention.

My mother has a Basset Hound who get bouts of gas. Sometimes he gets to the point of just screaming then half an hour later he can be fine.
Gas is always a concern as it can lead to gastric torsion. GS or "bloating" is when the stomach actually twists and both ends become sealed off, allowing the gas to continually build up until finally the stomach tears. If caught early on (before the twisting) it can be treated via de-gas medication or via a tube down the throat.

Bloackages or tears in the intestine can cause a build up of both matter and bacteria. Depending on the size and shape of the object swallowed they can also cause tearing and internal bleeding.

Yet another possibility is mild seizures. I have a Miniature Poodle who on occasion has bouts of epilepsy. It is not a seizure like you would imagine, she simply loses co-ordination and trembles, sometimes violently, other times only slightly. Her eyes usually appear glazed or dart around from side to side. They last between 1 and 10 minutes and then she is back to her usual self.

I do hope it is something simple that can be easily resolved and I don't mean to alarm you, but it is better to know the seriousness of such symptoms than to just 'wait it out'.
