How can I legally kick my 33 year old son out of my house?
My son and his wife moved in on the premise that they would pay rent and half of the bills to help me through hard times. They have lived with me since September of 2007 and have only eaten me out of house and home and ran my electric bill up. They have probably only paid three bills in the 11 months that they have lived with me. How can I legally get them out when they have refused to get out when asked to move out?

Give them official notice, written to move out. ** number of days depends on where you live** and if they don't move, you file for a legal eviction though the housing court.

    Eviction notice.

I know in the state of North Carolina. You can file eviction notice to anyone living in your household regardless of family member, friend and if they have been paying rent or not.

You have a right to kick them out. If it is your house.

Let a racoon loose in the house once when they are inside.
If that doesn't scare them off then you're going to have to get two.

Get a friend to help you move their stuff, and then and escort them out. Done.
