Ford escort 95 lx. Automatic seat belt not working
I have a 95 Ford Escort lx. It has automatic seat belts. All of the sudden the belts are not working at all. The fuses are good. Any advice on how to fix this without a mechanic?

'if the seat belt motor" does not come on after changing the fuses... then move the seat belt mechanism manually to the back and 'usefull' position

Then do I have to do that every time or will it fix it? It seems never to retract unless I do the manual thing.

Install a new door latch. Used one may have same problem. If you can put a hotwire directly to the motor and it works then the latch is most likely the problem. Also put dieelectric grease on connections
