| I have PCOS and am currently pregnant. I always thought I would have to try to get pregnant but actually it happened by total accident. I do carry a little extra weight and when I do it is on my tummy but I am not a large woman at all (Well I am at the moment but that's due to the baby). PCOS effects your hormones which can effect how your bady breaks down sugar in your body so it is easier to gain weight. Being over weight makes PCOS worse and therefore it becomes a vicious circle for some women. I took medication to help control my weight when it went up suddenly and it dropped right back down again in a matter of weeks so I really wouldn't worry too much. Some women with PCOS are actually too thin as their hormones are effected in other ways. I personally refused to go back on the pill when my doctor suggested this but only because it interferes with my periods and mine are often stopped by my PCOS and I was a little afraid that it would slow down my chances of conceiving if I didn't have a regular cycle.
