Thank you for your replies.
The gallery was on 57th St. In Manhattan, purchased around 1975. The gallery no longer exists. I remember that there was a similar painting in a mauve color - also a young lady sitting on a white wicker chair in a garden with sunlight filtering through the plants. The painting has a lightness to most of the strokes with very heavy strokes for the daisies.

I will supply a photo within a day or two.

I would simply like to identify the initials LMR if possible and then locate the artist because the painting needs to be cleaned up. I love the painting; it is beautiful. Wouldn't mind knowing if it has any value.
